Large Roman Marble Torso, 1st - 2nd century AD; height cm 50 (cm 60 with stand); wide cm 43; Exceptionally fine and realistic rendering of the lean, muscled body and the powerful curve of the back. The attitude and the rendering of the body recall the representations of Hercules. A restored scratch on abdomen; provided with an iron museal stand. Provenance: From the collection of Mr. U.C., started during 1950s in Brussels; then, collection supplemented by Diplomatic sons until the late 1990s.
